An update for everyone. We got a call from someone at Honda. They will be paying for 100% of the repairs. The body shop will be calling me to set up an appointment. $1100 job... Phew, glad they are doing the right thing.

If you financed the warranty with the purchase of your car then you will NOT get any money back. They money will go to bank to pay off your loan. I wanted to cash out on the warranty but the dealship said the money has to go to the bank.
They said that two me twice, once on my Mustang GT, and about 2 weeks ago on my used Sierra, in both cases I got a check in the mail myself, which I ended up sending to the bank anyways.

Speaking of those warranties, I got my S2000 in 05 as a CPO car, so apparently it was just factored into the price, but wasn't actually a separate line item. I had to get the passenger's side rear axle replaced within a year, and that was free, but they wouldn't give me a new side turn signal when it broke off while washing the car, and my clutch still buzzes (there's a TSB out for it but they said it would all be out of my pocket). So in that case... well I didn't really pay extra for it, but it did come in handy for that axle replacement.

On the truck, the only thing that warranty has covered in the last year is a water pump replacement. I want to sell the truck and get a more economical DD, so I canceled the remainder of the warranty and got a $1400 check. Problem is the value of the truck dropped $3000 in 11 months, so I can't quite get rid of it yet, but now without a warranty it's parked in the driveway, and I'm back to DDing the S2000 for a bit.

I have the same problem man. My car got a big dent on the right side right above the right rear wheel. It was big about the quarter side. I was driving next to a freaking big truck. The next thing knew was I heard a bang sound on the side of the car. So I figured perhaps the truck ran over a piece of rock or something like that so the thing flew over onto my car. But I couldn't imagine that thing hit so hard and gave a big dent. I have extended warranty. I have had it for almost 2 years or so along with my ownership. I haven't talked to my dealership about the problem but my question is would they cover the fix with extended warranty? I bought my car off the show room.

i thought extended warranty didnt cover paint, it only covered mechanical stuff bumper to bumper.
one thing i've learned. dont buy a car off the showroom, lots of people have gone in and out of it and there are billions of hairline scratches and swirls on it.... better to buy the one off the truck

Do you think your extended warranty will cover the damage if a tree falls on your car? If you drive it into a telephone pole?

Warranty will not cover this. This is considered a road hazard damage and would go through your insurance company. Normal dents up to 4 inches is what they are covering.

Heres another update. The gentleman who called and said it would be taken care of 100% financially was not from Honda. He was their 3rd party repairman calling to schedule a time. He was unaware of what had been going on between me and Holmes Honda and had never seen my vehicle. He was calling by procedure to schedule a time and slipped without knowing the situation that the repairs were covered 100%.

I've been in San Francisco for 11 days. Just got back Friday. Just get around to calling Holmes Honda and they tell me that they will only pay $500 out of the $1100 quoted repair. I'm going to call Honda of America today and complain. Once again, I'm very upset with all of this cross of information and also that this dent is not covered. Its on a verticle panel. We asked a manager at Holmes Honda, "If it hit a mm to the right, it would be covered?" He said, "Yes, it would." Which whether it is where it is or a mm over. We are still discussing the same verticle panel. The policy doesn't say anything about if it is on the edge of a verticle panel.

Just rediculous. I'm calling Honda of America and I will keep everyone updated on the progress, once again.

Not that it relates to warranty repairs to a vehicle but something brought up about insurance.
My stepson had all 4 tires/wheels jacked from his civic a while back. His dad has the insurance for his car and had a 1000 dollar deductible for comprehensive.
paint and dents also fall into comprehensive and the cost difference between say a $200 deductable and $1000 is minimal.
Its collision that has the big cost impact. I wouldnt have anything over like 250 for a deductible for comprehensive, it covers so much of the stupid stuff that may happen to your car that the cost is not worth the higher deductible.
Sorry about your issue though.
If I ever get extended warranty, its going to be through the internet listings. There are many that are true "full coverage".
