Your repair work was covered under warranty though, right?

Hay does the cpo warranty actually cover? Have any of you guys needed work done on a cpo? If yes, did they hassle you to do the work? Or was it pretty smooth?

You are supposed to get a booklet in the mail that details what is and isn't covered. You will also get a little card to put in your wallet with a dial in number and your warranty number. You can always call about an issue and ask if it is covered before taking it to get serviced. Only issue I had was with a broken top latch about 2 months in and I got it fixed no problem.

Going through the same thing on my next DD. What I've come to find is that the inspection aspect of CPO's useless. The only value out of CPO is the accompanying warranty. It does not imply that the car is trouble- or accident-free.

I reviewed the 150 point inspection paperwork when I looked at one of the cars. Its pretty comprehensive, but I did not noticed if they checked the engine values, compress, or if they did a leak down test. Those seem to be the three main test that should be done to the car prior to purchasing, correct?

The 150pt test is really a bloated 10pt test. Take a look at Toyota's CPO 160 pt test: http://www.toyotacertified.com/inspection.html Some are laughable - "Horn works"

I would be surprised if they performed compression & leak down test.

I used to be on the boat with certified used is only for those who dont know what to look for in buying a car, but now after buying my second S from a dealer certified, I now say that I will probably never buy a noncertified car again. Now talk about a motorcycle and I would buy only private party or new.

True cost to own http://www.edmunds.com/honda/s2000/2...946086&ps=used

Is this correct? The cost seems too high to be true /:
