Thumbs up Check Engine Light

Hey guyz,
Well I was driving yesterday and me and my buddy with an M3 wanted to see how my car would hang with it, because I got an AEM V2 Cold-Air Intake installed and a Apex'i VAFC II V-Tech and Air/Fuel Mixture Controller...The thing is I was running the M3 and it was a stock 04' and from 0-60 I was with him on his rear bumber the whole time it was amazing, but as soon as anything over a 100 he would start to pull, but nothing to the point where I was not surprised...Anyway, I am driving adn then I downshift and when I am in gear and I am at about 4000RPM I then gun it and I go to about 5600RPM and it was like a rev limiter came out of no where and wouldn't allow me to rev into V-Tech it was weird...I drive an 05' Honda S2000 and I don't want anything going wrong with the car I mean I know how to drive and I made no driver errors any ideas on what could've happened???

I had the car fully warm and it was running perfect... I ran the car hard for a good 10 mins V-Tech pretty much for a good amount of time but not abused or anything I mean it was nothing out of the norm...Then all of a sudden I couldn't hit V-Tech when I was about to race in second gear and it seemed like rev limiter...I then shut the car off and then started it and the check engine light came on and then when I drove and then the car hit V-Tech fine, but I didn't take it to the top but just wanted to see if the car would allow me to hit V-Tech...Also, the check engine light is on solid it is not flashing or anything I am not sure if it is due to the mods I ahve on the car, bhut some people have so many mroe mods that are bolt-ons and no word of check engine anyway if anyone could help that would be awesome...Should I bring it to Honda or will say try screwing me on warranty always scared about that!

Vtech makes crappy phones. VTEC is what your honda has.

first check your gas cap and be sure it's on tight. next check your oil level, because not enough oil pressure can cause you to hit a "rev limit" like wall around 6000rpm if your oil is low.

lastly go to any auto zone or whatever and they should be able to pull the code for you.

is it maybe your VAFC?
i remember when i had an SAFC i had problems with the setting. It wouldn't let me rev at certain RPM. Try putting it back to stock setting

It's your VAFC II. You need to change your vtec Engagement settings. I had this problem where when I would go to canyons. Basically, when you're driving and you let it chill between 5000-6000 for an extended period the vafc starts freaking out the ECU cause thats around the engage/disengage point. hard to explain, you just have to mess with it.
