Check engine light
I just picked up my car yesterday and today when I got home from work, I went into the garage to start her up. She started up well but later I noticed that the CHECK ENGINE LIGHT was still on. She sat there a couple minutes in the garage, could the fumes have something to do with it?
Dang, and I just got her too...so many worries when you care so much.

Before you do anything, take it to the service center and have them perform a diagnostic test first. I had a similar incident where the check engine light came on after work. I had not previously driven the car hard or did I miss shift. The car ran just fine with no unusual noise or any indication of anything wrong. I took it down to get a diagnostic test done and found out to be a problem with the air-pump.
Don't reset it just yet since doing so, you might not get the ecu to read out any codes for the diagnostics to read unless you absolutely know what went wrong.
Hope everything turns out alright.

I took the gas cap off and then put it back on with more than 3 clicks yesterday. I started it up this morning and still CEL. BTW, my S is garaged for a few days, can't take her in due to the weather, S02s aren't kind on snow.

I got this problem fixed today.
First, I got the TSB 54 (decel noise from clutch) and 55 (2nd gear grind) work done last week. Everything looked OK driving home. Then, the next morning (yesterday) I noticed the engine check light turned on when I started it. It seemed driving OK. Brought it in today and I just picked it up. The service report says,
Code #P0411 present. Air control system problem. Traced to a disconnected vacuum line. Reattached and rechecked. OK now.

I managed to get it to the dealer and they pulled the code. I don't know the exact code but the serviceman said the description was "too rich fuel" The weather was cold and I let it idle for a few minutes when the CEL first came on or stay on. The weather much have something to do with it???
