Huh???!!! Please explain. Are you saying you have a test pipe? And you have not O2 simulator? This will certainly throw a CEL. This alone, won't hurt anything, except for the fact that with the CEL on, you'll never know if another code will be thrown one day. That next code may be the one that is trying to tell you something really bad is happening.
BahrainOne1:
Do you want to start over and tell us as much as you can? These people CAN help.
1: Having the Check Engine Light (CEL) on is a bad thing.
2: It seems that the light is on because you have replaced the catalytic converter with a test pipe and have no Oxygen sensors (O2 sensors) hooked up. I this correct?
3: It is bad to run with CEL on because if some other problem happens to the engine, you will not know it and you can cause major damage to the car.
4: The little jokes that people made are just that -- little jokes. If you read in English, they are not being mean or disrespectful. Pay no attention to the jokes and go ahead and ask.
5: I can be of little help because I have no experience in this area. I just do not want them to chase you away. Many others CAN help though.

Now, I think the question you want answered is this:
"If the CEL comes on because I have my O2 sensor is not working because of a test pipe, will I lose power or will the car go into "low performance" mode?"
Is this correct question? If this is the question, I think the answer is NO. But the CEL is still a problem because of what is said in the above post.
(and now I am replying to my own posts.

)FWIW, I'm not making fun of anybody's english. I realized it's his second language. I was making fun of the seeming inability to provide all the relative information, and then getting "snippety" when the question is not answered.
