Chrysler Crossfire
Hi, everyone I have recently joined this wonderful site because of my strong desire to own a s2000. I'm going to admit after two test drives I'm feeling a little underwhelmed. I own a 2004 Chrysler Crossfire with 18,900 miles and am going to trade it in. Today I drove a yellow 2003 s2000 with 31,000 miles. ( they wanted 23,995 by the way) Now I still love the styling and convertable option but even when going above 6000 rpm and really getting on it, the thrill wasn't there. What I am asking is if any of you have had experience with a crossfire in anyway or if I just really need to be on the road by myself at about 80 to truly understand the honda. Again I would really like to own one but I would just really like some feedback. thanks
I recently sold my crossfire and got an S2000. They are very different beasts and you have to get used to shifting all over again. The Honda loves life above 6k and it was a couple days before I could get over the unatural feeling I had shifting at the fun RPM's.
Once I got used to it I have been enjoying every minute. it is very uncomfortable at first but well worth it... Don't fear the rev!

Okay, I don't know if you are baiting us or asking a legitimate question. I'll assume the latter. This car is driven differently than most to extract performance. The first few days I owned it I really wondered if I had made a bad mistake. Test drive it again and anywhere you feel like you should be in 3rd gear, be in 2nd. If you feel like you should be in 4th gear, be in 3rd, etc. The real beauty of the car is the Jekyll and Hyde personality. It will be what you want it to be at any given time(except a dragster).

No I'm not baiting you in for anything at all, I really love the s2000 and have greatly appreciated all of your comments. The idea of being in 3rd while I'm usually in 4th was a really good way of putting it. I just thought that might be a little more harmful to the engine if it is driven daily like that. (or you might have just been talking about when I'm wanting to speed a lil) Either way thanks for the feed back and I'll post pictures as soon as they become available. thanks
First, you are talking to a bunch of biased S2000 owners.
Second, the S2000 is not for everyone. It is perfectly fine that you don't find the car thrilling to drive, especially when compared to a car that has a 3.2L 6-cylinder engine like the Crossfire. The S2000 only has a little 2.0L (or 2.2L) 4-cylinder engine. So these are two totally different cars and they drive differently. The only thing they have in common is that they are both 2-seat convertables.
Third, no one is going to convince you that the S2000 is the right car for you. You have to decide for yourself by test driving it. If you are underwhelmed by it, then move on to something else.
