Default Cig lighter w/o key to work?

Hello all. I work on the local First Aid sqad and I use my s2000 as a first responder car. The problem with the car is that the cig lighter that I use to power my strobes will only work with the key in the ignition. The obvious problem is that I must leave my keys in the car with the ignition turned on and it is not like I can bring a second set of keys to lock the door with the other keys in there because the car won't let you lock the door. Is there anyway to eithor A) lock the doors with the keys in the ignition or B) make it so that the cig lighter always has power running through it. Thanks for your help

Regards,
Jonathan

Modifry has just the free instructions you need: http://www.baustnet.com/honda/mods/trunksw/trunksw.htm

all you really have to do is to swap the +12V lead of the trunk release and the lighter socket. one is accessory wired, the other constant.

the other benefit is no one can pop the trunk without a key. It is a pretty easy mod!

Could I just strip the +12V wire and attach it to the cig lighter and disconnect the ignition power wire from the cig lighter so I can still keep the trunk release AND have the cig lighter working without the key?

I used the instructions from modifry an it went as smooth as butter. The only problem is that I must have a different MY than him becuase I had to pull fuse 15 not 26. Aside from that, easy, and it now works without the ignition. Thanks alot for your help!

Jonathan
