Default Are Civics and Integras match for S2000?

well me and my friends are talking and they told me that fixed up ricers could be a good match for stock s2000. i dont disagree but they also told me that there is a limit for s2000's power and speed. they said most i can do is 500 hp if i try spend thousands of dollors. well now im having second thoughts of buying s2000. its a very nice car but is it worth it? well right now i have right hand drive jdm integra shiped from japan. its in my cuzins shop in oregon. im going to sell it for $18000. if any one is interested just post replys. thanks

Any car can be a match for an S2000, all it takes is money.

Your friends are right, I doubt you'll get 500hp out of an S2000- but I'm sure they got that figure from the ridiculous numbers on PlayStation 2 GT3. I guess your S.O.L. Better go buy a Focus SVT and try to make it get 200hp instead.

1 it is.

No mater how much RICE you buy, no Civic or Integra will ever come any where close to a "match" for me.

Like what Wesmaster has said, any car can be made to go fast in a straightline if you put in enough money. S2000 can be one too but not as efficient as you can if you put in the same amount to make a CRX go fast.

By the way do you own an S2000? I am curious as your profile is "owner" and your question seems to be telling me that you are contemplating getting one.

Yes, without a doubt, you can make any civic or integra even a suzuki swift to go faster than an s2000 with adding lots of money to it. But it still dosen't classify it as a sports car. No matter how fast you make a Honda Civic, it is still a Honda Civic. I've owned a couple of hopped up Integra GsR's and Civics before and driving the s2000 is a whole different story. I loved my 97' Integra GsR with all the mods, but driving the s2000 gave me the feeling of driving a pure sports car with ultimate balance one step above. Don't get me wrong, I'm not putting down Civics and Integras, I have lots of respect for those cars, but after driving sports cars like a Porsche 930 Turbo slant-nose, BMW M3, and my friends NSX, there is completely a different feeling and a new concept of driving. It's like saying that I could spend $6000 more on my s2000 and be faster than a Ferrari 360 Modena. I think that almost everyone would pick the stock 360 over a faster modded s2000. Like Ferraris, there is a whole new concept of driving when you have an exotic.

My advice is to drive the s2000 and feel the connection, the feeling of the wind blasting in your face, bugs in your teeth, the sunburned face and arms, the deafening wind at over 100mph, the messy hair, and the racoon eyes from wearing sunglasses. You'll LOVE IT!!

ya a hopped up civic and a gsr could be a "match" for the S but you you also have to think, with the money you would put into the civic to be an S with that same money you could make an S ferarri like. NOT SAYING AN S COMPARES TO AN EXOTIC (so dont get on my back please). all it takes it money, money is was makes cars go funny (he he) oh ya crazy people also make the funny cars. any way, you will never get the enjoyment of an S2000 with a 16-25k car. and the S is even more fun to drive and some cars around the 50k catergory, not the same straight line speed but in handling its awesome. its like an insane miata! between 30k and 45k i think (considering the cars were still made) you could get a Rx-7, 300zx, Supra, s2000, and a Vr-4. IN MY OPINION the S is the most enjoyable to drive and they all have the same speed (arguably, its all the driver between these cars.) with the exception of a supra (supra is faster, 2-3 car lengths in a straight line, maybe more, idk how good the driver i was against). but all the cars i named are exceed 3000lbs (except Rx-7) and the 3000gt Vr-4 is like 3700-3800 lbs. and guess how much the S ways...2700. soo back to the point. im just saying the S is a car underpriced and gives you about a million cc's of adrenaline at v-tec!. no civic or integra will ever be a S2000 especially with fwd.
