Are Civics and Integras match for S2000?
500 horse is a possibility, and hopefully cjb will be the first (that I know - gregstevens maybe?) to push that envelope. It's just that no one's done it and it will cost a small fortune to build/maintain/tune/fix-when-something-breaks. If you just wanna go fast in a straight line in an import, buy a civic and slap a huge turbo and nos on it. You wanna go fast in style through the twisties? Buy an s2000. You wanna go slow? Buy a mustang.

ALL I HAVE TO SAY IS IF YOU OWN A HONDA YOU SHOULD RESPECT ALL HONDAS. I HAVE A 99 GSR AND IVE FINALLY GOT TO DRIVE A S2000 AND I LOVE IT BUT AT THE SAME TIME I STILL LOVE MY GSR ...SO TO ALL YOU HATERS THE TECHNOLOGY OF A S2000 MOTOR CAME FROM LONG TERM R&D AND ESPECAILLY DEVELOPEMENT FROM ALL THE OTHER DOHC VTEC CARS SUCH AS INTEGRAS AND CIVICS. SO DONT DOUBT THE INTEGRA POWER OR ONE DAY YOU MIGHT LIVE TO EAT YOUR WORDS.
There was a recent program on UK TV, where they raved a S2000 against a standard Civic Type R (not sure if you have it yet over in the US) on a track... and it beat the S2000.
Now the general concensus seems to be that they "let" the Civic win to make a point (i.e. it's very, very fast) but it's interesting to see Honda release a car for $15000 less that a S2000 which is very close to the perfomance.

I thought to myself, what if I just get a RSX and have practicality AND some power. Then I slapped myself.
I wish I knew what I wanted back when I bought the TL. I hated the way the Toyota ran, but it was the closest thing to a blast to drive regardless of what I'd owned.
Now I want a S so bad, and I can't go out and get one. Yet. I'm dying over here!
