Why does the S2000 have this problem? I am looking at buyingo one, but am having second thoughts. Getting scared because lots of people loose control.. I drive aggressive, but my current car has DSC so it is not an issue right now... good to hear everyone was OK this time!

Honestly, if you're just careful you don't have to worry about it. Before the S I had a 95 MR2 and before I got that car I was researching it a lot and found that the car was also notorious for snap oversteer. Same deal as over here, tons of people saying they've spun out before, crashed, etc... It really made me think twice about getting the car. Then I finally got the car and found that if you use some common sense, like driving slower in the rain, you don't have to worry about these problems. Don't let the stories deter you away from the car, just keep them in mind while your'e driving in sub par conditions or if you're thinking about pushing the car where you've yet to push it.

well said ...the S is a great car , for a good driver only

drive w/care and it will take care of you

go buy the s2k ...then take it to the track to learn how to test the limits. Thats the key to ownership , know what u have a" a highly tune sports car " that can be alot of fun , in the wrong hands it can be dangerous ....like any other sports car can be . The S is just not as forgiving as some ...so drive it like a MUTURE ADULT, and it will be one of the greatest cars of your life ...

Just don't drive it like a FRONT WHEEL DRIVE car and you'll be fine..
Go to the local autoX and learn the limits of the car, then you'll appreciate the handling of the car much more. Oh, and don't run the S02's past the half worn mark in the rain, you'll regret it as the car makes it's lightweight nature known REAL quick as you hydroplane over puddles..

yeah the car is dangerous. basically you cannot drive the car like it's meant to be driven unless is a clean road in proper ambient temperature with the tires warmed up. alot of times you wont have perfect weather so you have to realize you have to drive like a granny. if you think you can't control yourself and drive slower than other ppl in the rain then you probably should look elsewhere.
it's more of a track car or a weekend car. you have to control yourself in daily driving.
you can't be cheap. tires are gonna wear out fast and when they do they are more suceptible to hydroplaning. at even at 45mph i've heard.
it'd be a better daily driver with dsc/esp/asc etc.
