Default Cleaning the soft top of "bird droppings"

So I walk out to my car this morning and sure enough my hood and soft top were both victims of bird droppings. What is best to use to clean the soft top when things like this happen?

For immediate cleaning use some regular car was soap and rinse good. I would suggest following up with a soft top cleaning and treatment. Pick up the Raggtop twins (cleaner and treatment) from Phil over at DetailersDomain. Very good cleaner and a treatment that makes the top look like new!

Thanks for the reply. I plan on doing that in a few weeks (just got the car a few days ago). But wanted to get the top clean in the meantime.

Definitely get it off as soon as possible. The acidity of bird droppings can damage the soft top if left on too long. Use soap and water as recommended. I highly recommend 303 Cleaner and Protectant though. Definitely cleans the soft top up good.

warm water also helps with the use of soap.

when i have bird droppings, regular car wash usually gets it right off

but +1 on raggtopp. That should be an essential product for every s2k owner if you care about the longevity of your soft top

I have a soft bristle brush that I use to scrub the top when I wash my car. I just put some soap on it and go to town. After I wash it I treat the top with vinylex.

Works well and has UV protection, but I do notice that when it gets wet it tends to streak down the windows.

The same brush and cleaner you'd normally use for cleaning the top.
