Default Climate Control Knob.

When making changes to the settings on my climate control knob, I hear a lot of mechanical noises (you can hear it change to each setting). I've had some work done, er, actually lots of work done due to a front end collision and I don't recall if it's suppose to make that much noise.

Does your baby make the same noises when changing the position of your knob?

p.s. I'm only talking about your S2K here...

You're hearing the electric mode control motor switch positions whenever you move the selector. unless you can hear it over the radio, It's normal.

Thanks, I'm overly sensitive right now to every little click and pop this car makes (and it does make a lot). I'm comparing notes with other drivers to waste as little time with the shop fixing the rest of the issues rather then chasing 'phantom problems' that only exist in my head.

if turning the knob directly actuated the vents, you'd probably need rubber gloves as the resistance would be too much and it would just feel cheap. I'm sure you've turned knobs in a cheaper car or a midrange domestic...they are difficullt to turn and then just pop to the next setting.
