You fool! Don't you realize that NOT looking 'foolish' or 'chicken' is worth any amount of potential damage to ones clutch and drivetrain? Not to mention the potential tickets, loss of license, or even jail for street racing? You're talking crazy talk! It is SO worth it!

i don't expecting to do launches.. i don't have the need for it.. i never race anyone.. if i do, it would be from a roll on the highway .. which is most of my driving.. my s2k is my daily driver.. i had to coerce my wife into agreeing to buying it, so i wouldn't do anything to cause serious harm to the car..
i didn't take your comments personally though..
if i do it, it would be in some open parking lot, just for my own gratification..

 

Honestly, a more true or more accurate statment would be:

"reading stories of people damaging the clutch or even worse, usually from IMPROPER launching technique"
