CLUTCH PROBLEMS
Last weekend I had a little incident. If you asked me what happened I would answer I am not really sure. I was on the starting at our local drag strip, when the time came to launch the car didn't move off the line (like it normally does), instead the revs went above 9k with the limiter engaged.I was probably dooing a burn out without me knowing (I had just pumped up the tyres to their optimum pressure 32psi).Seeing this what I think I did was I pressed the clutch thinking there was a problem, but left my foot on the gas.
To put a long story short I F****D up my launch big time.
Not long after I smelt a strong burning smell of clutch.Needless to say I put my head betwwen my legs and head off home after that.
What is bothering me now is that I dont know how long my clutch has left before it quits totally (because the car starts to move towards the end ofthe clutch travel),and I am not sure wheather to change only the clutch or the whole system when the time comes.I dont use the car that often it is my weekend toy 9000kms in 1.5 years.
Please give me feedback ,and sorry to bore you out with my long story.
