Well I just purchased a SPEC Stage 2+ from HorsePowerFreaks.com for the great price of $607. I think I'll be very happy with this setup, I will definitely post some feedback after I've gotten some miles and track time on it.

Now I just need to stroll over to hardtopguy.com and order my Comptech flywheel, trans fluid and diff fluid. With any luck, install can occur next week.

So those of you that have done the install yourself, about how long did it take you and how many people did you need? (I've got to plan for a sufficient amount of beer and pizza for my free labor)

[QUOTE=NFRs2000NYC,Sep 6 2005, 07:29 AM] Well, just to fill you in one a few things about SPEC...

Spec isnt very well known in the Honda world, because most people love JDM stuff, etc, putting stage 15 clutches on cars that make 90lbs of tq.

I myself will be getting a SPEC stage 1.

First off, this is a great thread.
Second off, I am REALLY sorry to ask this:
I've read that the vibration and chattering in AP1 S2000s were due to the clutch (disk I assume) springs. I've read this all over the place, and was ready to upgrade just the disk (can't afford everything) for some better grip, and more importantly, no damn chattering.
Now I am reading that the OEM flywheel might cause the chattering?? Shit....
What is the best bang for the buck pressure plate? flywheels? And anybody try the Spoon street disk?? Thanks!!

Comptech Flywheel is nice, I know many people who use it.
I'm happy with it again!

About pressure plate, I think it's up to you, what kind of feel you are looking for.

And at least about spoon clitch kit, S2000RAT use that kit... You shoud ask more from him

hope this help you!

Well I recieved my SPEC Stage 2+ yesterday, and I must say, it's not exactly what I expected.

The disc is segmented kevlar on one side and... 6 semi-metallic pucks on the other! I thought for sure I was getting a full faced disc.

I'll reserve final judgement for when it's on the car and broken in, but this definately isn't what I was expecting. I guess this is retribution for sticking up for you puck guys!

Install should be saturday, so we'll see what it feels like later that night. Final impressions are probably a week away, so that I have time to break it in properly.

One question: How many of you replaced the propeller shaft (driveshaft) bolts when replacing your clutch (the ones that you didn't break upon removal, that is)?

Well, if I remember right, Honda recomened to replaced that bolt's but I don't change it.

My mechanic use some kind of "glue" or something ( I don't remember now what exactly ) what is good to use, when you install part's/ bolt's back to your car again...

But after 15tkm everything is fine! ..

Hope this help you...

I've recently replaced my clutch and am very pleased with it. I'm running the Mugen pressure plate and OEM disk and a Toda flywheel. Pedal is a little stiffer, but I like it much better than stock.
Can you comment on the differences between the Toda flywheel and OEM flywheel. I am interested in the Toda.

I noticed you have an '04. If you haven't done the clutch delay valve mod you may want to try that first before spending any money. Pretty easy mod- did mine- makes a difference.
Was there any fabricating to this mod?
