Compliments Galore...
i guess i am very much in the minority. i think the new z4 and new boxster are high quality lookin cars. they are fluid and complex with lines that flow seemlessly between body panels. the s2k looks like it is put together piece by piece. esp the nasty oem brakes.
but sorry for taking this off topic.
yea, i am surprised by the amount of compliments the car gets.
i once was forced to valet it and 5 of the valets came over to ask me questions about the mods etc.

I will have had my car one month in a few days... drove it across the country from Philly to Cali. I've never gotten more attention in any ride I've had. I got compliments all the way across the country. In every state there were no less than two people that said something or shot me a thumbs up. I had people asking me what kind of car it was, which really caught me off guard. "THAT'S A HONDA ?!?!" Haha Oh yeah it is!
The hard top really sets the car off and the rims don't hurt either. Its just pretty, to say the least.
I did my first AutoX this past weekend. And almost every guy stopped and looked at the car. The interior, the whole nine. I got 3 compliments from the same dude, he just couldn't get over how it looked. The car has a beautiful profile, especially from the rear corner at about 45 degrees. The booty is just amazing. I find myself still admiring the car, and god forbid its been freshly washed... OMG! I feel like Tony Stewart in that Meguiar's commercial.
geez sorry man, just giving my opinion. you'd rather have a bunch of sycophants?
ok, answer this: where on the scale of the best looking cars of the world would you put the s2k ap2 on? 10 being the best looking obviously.

"Thats a Honda"?
I ran into a friend I hadn't seen in a few years last week and that was his comment.
Him:
What model is it?
Me:
An '06 S2000
Him:
An '06? It looks brand new.
Me:
No, it's an '06
Him:
Never heard of 'em.

I also had an Infiniti...I sold my S for a 2004 G35 6MT. Three of my friends also have brand new G37's, I'm so sick of that car now. It is spacious and it has much more comfort cues and amenities than the S will ever have, but it's not as much fun and it's heavy.
You are going to get more compliments in your S because of the style, it's a vert. People look at it and think of fun; they don't think of commuting to work and automatic transmissions

Realistically I wouldn't put the S in the top 10. But for damn sure wouldn't pick an Infinity or a Cadillac.
You talked about hard lines which the Infinity has few of... I like the car, but not enough to put it in the top ten based on looks.
As a matter of fact I don't think a car made in the new millenium (sp) makes the top ten list. But most of cars I'd pick I'll never have.

last friday on my way back from lunch with the top down, I was waiting to make a left at an intersection and some guy in a black pickup truck pulled in front of me to the right. He fully extends his arm and pointer finger looking back at me and yells "Nice!" lol love getting compliments in the s2k. And that was on stock rideheight!! (installed kw v3 later that day

In 2001, I was almost stopping traffic when I first owned one. It felt so good. Got that same effect when I bought my RX8. Everyone at every gas station, store, or even traffic light was giving thumbs up, drooling, and asking what it was. That faded slowly, as you started seeing them quite often eventually. Then with my AP2, I got a little more noticed again, as IMO the car simply got nicer looking. When the Saturn Sky came out, there was a yellow one parked across from me in a parking lot, and everyone was stopping, staring and taking pictures, while no one even looked at my car. LOL Now that it's almost 2012, this car just doesn't have the same effect anymore, which I'm thankful for. Now, when I got the front lip spoiler, rear lip spoiler, and especially the OEM hardtop recently, people started noticing it again.
I think it depends on your demographic. Where I live (big city areas with HUGE population), S2000s are all over, combined with so many higher end sports cars driving around. I appreciate thumbs up and compliments a lot more nowadays, but mostly all I get now are jealous stare downs from a young generation in their riced up Civics revving at me. I just live in the wrong area.
