One of the many reasons to love this vehicle.

I get compliments all the time as well, wait till you get a hardtop/nice looking sound exhaust, I have random people come up to me and ask me what I do for a living or nice car/ looks cool/ beautiful car!

Truth be told...My G37 was a lease and it ran up...I was going to buy a used E90 M3 Sedan...Had some risky investments that tanked literally the week I was going to buy it...Didn't want to sell out of the market so was looking for something that would be (fun, different, cheap, and exciting)...Remembered my days of wanting an S2000 before I bought my first G35 coupe (before the G37) and test drove the S the next day...Fell in love...I had recently drivein my G37, an E46 M3, an E55 AMG and honestly the S2000 got my blood going better then all of them...

So I recently (3 weeks ago) picked up a 2005 Silverstone S2000...I'm coming from a 2008 Infiniti G37 (6mt, sport)...Loved the Infiniti in terms of luxury, reliability, and highway power...

I've been humbled in owning the s2000 as I now realize I never owned a sports car before...The infinigi was a luxury coupe...

Having said that...My $40,000 Infiniti got in 4 years less compliments from total strangers then I've received in 3 weeks over my s2000...

No less then 5 total strangers have made comments about my car...And the most amazing part is that the demographic is sooooooo different...

Pulled up to a country club and both the bag drop gentlemen (easily 60-70 years old) commented with "sweet wheels"...They meant the car obviously as I have stock rims! Ha...Both talked about how it's nice to know when you've "made" it with ride like that...I guess they don't realize it cost me $17,000...Hardly "made" it money....

The very next day I pull into McDonalds to grab a coffee...The kid at the window (I'd guess 19-22) says "wow that's a sick car, looks amazing"

Today I went to pick up my wifes Pathfinder at the mechanic...Owner of the shop (about 50 years old) and a mechanic (roughly 35) couldn't stop looking over my car...The owner says "wow thats a sharp ride you got there"..."I'd love to get me one, looks like a great toy" I told him he has no idea just how much fun this toy can be...

Anyways...Just thought I'd share...
Do you happen to live around the philly suburbs?

I think I talked to you real quick a few weeks ago at Wawa on Horsham Road when you were pulling away in your G37. Glad your loving the car as much as the rest of us!

Yes that was me!!! Small world and glad you're on this forum as well...Hopefully we catch up at some point...

I got a compliment yesterday from a guy riding a Harley-Davidson. "Hey man, your car sounds awesome!"

My exhaust? Invidia V3 + testpipe.

I have to say it was awkward. He was your stereotypical rough-looking dude on a Harley, and his type for the most part doesn't care too much for my type...

I guess that's why we aren't supposed to stereotype. hehe I would think it would be really awkward if he said. "HEY MAN, YOUR CAR LOOKS AWESOME" I saw a mean looking, roughed up, big older dude driving an S this past summer. He briefly stared at me then looked away while I waved in my S. That was awkward, so expect anything.

Yesterday, two fat teenage chicks walked up to me in a parking lot and said, "nice car."

OK, what do I win now?

Yeah I would have made the same choice, stay in wait for a rebound and meanwhile have a fun to drive car that is cheap on maintenance , the resale on your s2k is going to be pretty solid as well so yet another sound decision.

Some where between an 8 and a 9.35...
My reasoning?
The Lotus for example is a looker, but not like the S. Its unique, exotic even, but not pretty.
The Vette looks pretty good, but IMHO not better than the S.
Camaro? Laughable.
Dodge Challenger, not bad looking... but nothing original about it.
BMW Z4 not bad either, looks better with the hard top.
Miata? Bwahahaha. Uh.. yeah.
240 SX I like them a lot. Doesn't look better than the S.
Subie? No contest. No matter what model.
350Z? No. Looks horrible as a convertible.
Volkswagen what? No.
G37 Sexy car when done right. Looks horrible as a convertible.
I can be convinced... just show me something.

Nothing. Fat kids are harder to kidnap.
