Sidenote: Whoever's buying a new S, do not let your dealer put it on for you. My sales guy was showing me how to put on the boot, and he just laid it out on the trunk and let the straps hang from the side. The little metallic button was making that scratching sound as it swung across the paint.
I was about to kill him...
I put the boot on the car (2002) one or two times in the first month I had it. Since then it's been on a shelf in the garage. I like the look of the boot, but it's too much trouble to use on a daily driver for the short ride to work. I didn't have any problems putting it on when I used it.
There were changes made in 2002 to better secure the boot to the car. For those of you that had problems getting it to stay on, what year is your car?

In Florida, the boot is a pain in the ass to use. As soon as you put it on...bang, it rains...sometimes with the sun out. Mine is still in the original bag. If I had a hardtop, it would be stored in the garage forever. The only time you could even think about using a boot down here would be in the winter when it's dry.
