Yikes, this might be the most notable negative with regards to MY 2005 that I've seen so far.

 

Does that include theft of parts and not the car? The seats are my #1 worry, then I've heard of guys having their Headlights stolen for the HID's. Not as much of an issue, as a lot of other cars have HID's, but back in the day, the Lights would get taken often. Seats can still be an issue.

No. Did not try to research that. Might be of little value because of the reporting problems; probably will not be very accurate.

With low production numbers, just a few data points of theft can remarkably affect the "rate". Overall there are about a half a dozen thefts a year (this was 3-4 years ago) so if this forum reported 4-or 5 thefts, the likelihood of my car vanishing declines, especially as a 2009 from a statistical standpoint, to almost nothing.

With the seat locks I installed, I also had yellow (match the Rio Yellow) inside window decals declaring McGuard Seat Locks. Inside of the tint, they are not particularly noticeable unless you are peering inside.

 

As a new owner with a soft top only, no garage, and living in downtown Baltimore... this is all great news
