exactly... you have access to another car (which is more or less yours as well correct?)
madscientist..

that is true, but my situation is that some days my wife will drop the kids off (either one or both) and I have to pick them up after work and being the car that it is.. i can't throw them in the trunk..hence her inconvenience/impracticality argument.. it was easy when i drove my elantra. when she found that the passenger airbag doesn't turn off, it made it even worse because at least I would be able to drive one of the kids if necessary. i guess what i was trying to say is that if you really want that car, you will find some way to work around some of the "inconveniences"...
like one other member said.. just get the car ask questions later..

I agree with you.. If you really want something.. you will find a way

BUT.... some ways are better than others

If I may respectuflly add..... I dont know your wife but from what you're telling me its only a matter of time before she gets fed up with you and accuses you of being selfish and then does something highly rash. I've seen women wild out for much less.

So what happens when you have to pick the kids up? you didnt say

bro, I understand you love the car and want it... beleive me.. I would love to have it too. But whats the point, if its going to mortally compromise your family? So you have the car, but dont you find it a damper that you have to go home to a wife thats on the verge of getting majorly pissed off? I dunno, If that were me, i'd find it a kill-joy.

If I were you, I'd just spring for an additional beater to save your ass and potentially your marrriage. That way if you have to pick up the kids, you can just make a pit stop at home and get eh other car....

that way everybody is happy, you're wife has nothing to throw at you in the midst of future arguements and you can enjoy your S in peace.

An S2K as a daily driver?... ALthough the choice is yours; face it guys this car was not built for that.

A two seater, harsh riding, uncomfortable convertible as your only car is potentially asking for trouble.

I personally wouldn't suggest an S2K to anybody that didnt at least have some sort of a daily driver as well..... unless of course you are a scrawny single guy with no family, no friends, living in Miami or LA and a metabolism that works double overtime.
Blah, blah, blah.

BS, all my cars are two seaters or I have sportbikes. My S is my daily beater . Wife has more practical cars.

First I'm a big boy 235lbs .

Harsh ride ,WTF ? It's a sportcar car get it? First onramp you hit and go sideways and the supposed harsh ride is but a memory. Harsh ride ,hahaha .

I'm a family man two little boys.

What does friends have to do with anything (they own their own cars and if we need to go somewhere we all drive alone. Not cramped into some old man's sedan ,coupe, or SUV like a bunch of Nancy boys going to a pride parade. That way we can comptete to see who get's there first. Plus none of my mates would want to ride in the bitch seat. We are drivers not passengers.

I live near LA what does that have to do with anything.

Dude your full of shlt.

Life too short to have to drive something boring .

I guess you could stuff lobsters and steak in there.
..no, it was regular food and no water or beer or milk, which take volume...

kill-joy. yeah your right, but she said that i could get it.. yet still complains about it..

i still have my elantra, so for now, i'll stop home and switch cars... yes, i know.. i have other options, so having the S is not as inconvenient - but i am planning on selling the elantra.. maybe i will end up buying another beater (which only spurs the practicality card - why buy 2 cars when you could have bought 1 that would fit all needs).. she married me knowing that i love sports cars.. like i said, i bought a hyundai to save money for wedding and kids.. I put 20 inch Giovanna's on her Tahoe.. i've worked hard enough to earn enough to afford the car that I know i'm gonna enjoy.. it hasn't changed the way i am with her or the kids.. if i buy a car that i enjoy and make other sacrifices so that our lives don't change and that's gonna put someone's wife over the edge to divorce, then who is being selfish? and in that case, then you would probably be better off without her..
