Well this guy ASKED for input and people are giving it. Because I dont know him all I can do is give some raesonable advice... I'm not assuming his life is like mine... just trying to be as REASONABLE as possible. Now how reasonable would it be to say "uhh yeah, a 2 seater track car would make a wonderful daily driver" LMAO
look around you my friend... how many people do you see in two seater cars? no too many when compared to others. Don't get me wrong I love them... but of the few two seaters your see driving... ask them if they have another car or at least have reasonable access to another car and tell me how many of them say yes.
Take a survey of different drivers (car enthusiasts included) and tell me what the general consensus would be on the S2K as a sole daily driver.
lol

I see quite a few 2 seaters around me during my commute to work. I'm sure you don't believe me, but that's the truth. I don't know why it's so surprising that some people are perfectly fine with 2 seats on a daily basis. Heck, if you have access to a 2nd car (as the original poster clearly does), a 1 seater might be fine.
"A 2 seat track car?" Ha ha ha... dude, it's a Honda. It's not like we're talking about an Elise or a Caterham Super 7. I will be the first to admit that the car is lacking in many features and amenities (part of the reason I bought one), but you're talking about it like it's an antiquated vehicle that is barely street legal, which it clearly is not.
Also, it appears that the original poster IS taking a survey of different drivers (car enthusiasts included), and it looks like the general consensus is that the S2000 is acceptable as a daily driver as long as you are aware of its shortcomings.
Why is this so hard to believe?

i just got my 02 and is pretty much my daily driver.. since i got it i have about 2k miles (about 85 miles a day).. i have all of those issues (family w/2kids, wife can't drive a stick, so if i need to take the kids out she can't go anywhere because i have the tahoe) but you know what?? I told her .. i'm driving it everyday, for those instances where you are out and i need to take the kids, one of us will have to borrow a car or stay home... i used to drive a 300 z to school, it broke down, got married so i got a hyundai (which was ok, but....) so now i wanted to get back to what i love driving.. a sports car.. i'm 5'11 and almost 200 lbs, an hour commute each way is the best two hours of my day until i see my kids (then an hour of that and i want to send them to bed)..
bottom line.. i worry about what happens when it snows (i'm in the suburbs of NY), but i'm loving it.. i eye it while i walk away from it, and sometimes stare at it when its sitting on my driveway.. call me crazy, but enough said..

but like what i said.. go ask all the two seaters if they atleast have access to another car and see what most of them say... thats changes everything.
I gave the advice I gave based on the assumption that this guy only ahs the S2K.. thats it... and I think its fair advice

Are you in Arizona ? If you are, then you should know that even with the top up and air conditioning ran at full blast, the heat of Arizona during summer days will get you through the un-lined vinyl top. If you like to own a convertible car in Arizona heat, you should consider to get after-market linning for your top so that you can use it during the day in summer.
My S is my weekday car to work, round-trip is less than 10 miles in city streets. The temperatures in the morning to work and evening back home are very mild all year, I can have my top down up to 90% or more for commuting to and from work, the top was up the remainning days because of rain. I drove my S few times during lunch hours in summer, the heat though the top was not very pleasant even with air conditioning ran at max.
Just like any other nice item in any car, you may like to get these for your future S2000: seat locks, wheel locks ...

I will definitely get the top lined and the windows tinted to stay cool.
The flip side of that is I get to keep the top down during the mild winters.
keep in mind also, as a daily driver you will get many many surface scratches, rock chips, windshield cracks, curbed wheels, door dings, etc.
No one can refute this. No matter how far away you park away from others, never park under trees, avoid going to costco parking lots, etc etc etc.
my advise again is, "buy the s2000 and ask this question later." even if your end answer is "no" you still have an s2000 and you can buy a $2000 beater.

^^ I agree with most of this, but why curbed wheels?
But 95% of the time the cause for me have been pot holes.
