if i had to spend 100k per car on 10 cars a vette would not be one of them,...they are cheap, creaky, plastic all over,.....this coming from someone who drives different cars all day,....... in all honesty id probably choose the srt 8 charger over it since they are both straight line cars imo,....i could beat a vette around a track anyways with the S

I came to the S after almost buying a used C5 Corvette. Those of you panning Corvettes have no idea what you're missing. I know what I'm missing because I chose an S over a 'vette.

a) Vettes are not that bad in the reliability department Of the C5 generation, the 2002 had tranny problems, but that's pretty much it. The C6s are certainly a bit less reliable. I know this because I thoroughly researched Corvettes, visited forums, the whole bit.
b) Vettes are VERY comfortable on the road, much more compliant than an S
c) Um, can you say torque? Even in a base 'vette?

So why did I choose the S? Very simple.....it is a pure sports car--the overall package was simply more compelling to me. I plan to enjoy mine for a long, long time.....but I expect eventually to own a 'vette, too. Either that, or I'll trade my daily driver for a CTS-V.

Hmmmm. you say the S puts a smile to your face everytime you drive it, yet after your car got smoked so you decide you need to get a C6. If your car didn't lose, how would you have felt then? Is this just a case of keeping up with the Jones? I personally like Corvettes, but I think you really need to think this one through. You don't want to have sellers remorse after you get rid of your S!

Yes, head to head the vette is faster. What about everyday driving? It's more luxurious but is it as fun to drive? Would you be speeding more? How's the fuel economy (is it important to you)? I don't know the answers to these questions, but I think you need to find out for yourself.

Good luck with your decision Kevin, at the end of the day, it's
whatever makes you happy!!!

Oh and I like White too!

SRT8 over a vette?

Let's see cheap, creaky, plastic all over...yep sounds like an SRT8!

"To my dismay, from the passenger seat of the Z06, I watched my S2K get destroyed. Even with a sizeable jump at the start. It faired much better 10-100 than 50-120. Ever since then I've been left wanting more."

lol how about on touge (mountain)... the 06 will prolli flip. S2000 is amazing when it comes to sharp turns/bends.

i love the drop top feel , if you get a c6 will u get a convert or coupe? if the drop top wasn't one of the reasons u love the car then a coupe is fine i could of bought a used c6 as well but 1) i like small cars 2) hate the interior , could go on but factor in everything before u decide

I'd drive it first. I'm not big into magazine racing. It's cool to see specs, but for a car like that, you definitely have to see if you like driving it, not just riding in a friend's.
x2. I don't understand why people ask for opinions. I wouldn't buy a Vette but test drive and do whatever floats your boat. I'd keep in mind what ace123 said -- the grass is always greener...

I spent a day in a 06 C6 and then a week in an 08 C6. The steering in the 08 was much better. It was without a doubt a better more comfortable daily driver than the S2000. However, I can't say it was more fun to drive or would put a bigger grin on my face. My wife would take the Vette 10 to 1 over the S2000. For myself, I'd take the Honda for autocrossing and tight tracks but if I only could have one car that had to be a DD and track car I'd take the 08+ C6.

unfortunately a vette would probably dominate on the touge assuming the put equal amounts of money and Mods into the 2. The c6 vettes have amazing performance for the price. like someone said earlier, the vette is nothing but an upgrade from an s2k. I still choose my s2k for 1 main reason, its cheaper than a c6.
