I agree, don't buy one.

It leads to drooling excessively, and the tendency to twitch when the sun comes out and you are stuck at work in a meeting...

Also S2000's attract to much attention...

Not to mention how it embarrasses most other roadsters...

Really, don't do it...

Don't do it! They are way too much fun. You will end up taking the long way for every little trip, you will start to daydream at work about getting out on the twisties and hearing that flat hard whine as you shift at 9000 rpms. You will spend too much time on this site talking to other similarly afflicted owners. You will start to dip into your spare cash for every upgrade available. In short, you'd be better off taking up smoking, it's less habit forming.

After running through 3 gears on a moderately twisty road, he was just silent... scared speechless?

Atleast he didn't show his fear by a bodily movement...

The S2000 has much more of a visceral feel to it. I think its the size and openness. You feel like you are hauling a$$ even when you arent. I know its sad, but 100mph feels fast to me in the S2000. I can't imagine 161 like Scot did...

Maybe I am getting old?

Take all the Honda Goodness of a Prelude and magnify it 10 times and you have a S2000. VTEC? Even better in a Stook. Can you say 9000 RPM? Build Quality and Reliability? Stooks are hand built. Great Handling? Stook eats a Prelude's lunch. Plus 'Ludes don't offer the convertible option.

Howie,

Keep the SH man...that is a good car.

You really should buy it unless you are in love with it. That's how I buy things. If you don't have a clear and present decision on something...you should wait it out until you are 100% certain.

The new Z is comming out soon. But then again...the S2000 may be going away.

There is no car I've ever owned that is more pure pleasure and exictement to drive. It's a thrill and it never wears off.

I lost money on an 98 Acura CL to buy a BMW M Roadster. Never regretted it for a minute. Crashed the BMW, bought the S2000 - I am completely won over now.

You will be making a similar leap to go from the prelude to the S2000 - it's gotta be something you really want; then money doesn't matter.
