You're right. I should probably get better on the stick before I move up though I do feel I'm getting better everyday which is good. Even though it rains a lot I do park in covered areas for the most part. Anything to read about regarding the hard top? And yes I do not want to ruin a new S2000 by driving horribly though I think I'm good enough to drive one though not exactly race one.

I do like my prelude a lot though I don't like the Lude's low end. The S2000's torque ratings don't look that great either but everyones seems to be saying it's not a problem.

Man, I really need to get to bed.

People don't complain about the torque because once you start shifting at about 8 grand, who needs torque. I am a Honda freak but if you want torque, look elsewhere.

Something tells me that you don't bounce the Prelude off the rev limiter much. My del Sol has a paltry 111 ft./lbs. of torque and it never bothered me. I have driven a friend's 2000 Lude (not an SH) and it honestly had plenty of power and handling as well. I can't imagine the SH....it has to be one of the, if not THE best handling FWD car of all time.

Like I said....you want that quick jump off the line without slipping a clutch at 5000 RPM's, buy a GM F Body or a Mustang V8. Just don't come back to me when you put it through a guard rail trying to corner!

Like I tell my sportbike, racer wannabe friends.....if you're not using 32 percent of a 600cc bike, buying an 1100 isn't going to make a damn bit of difference.

Go to bed tonight, wake up tomorrow, get in the Prelude and apologize to it for ever thinking of getting rid of a Honda so soon

Yes. But unfortunately it's not in my local dealership. Maybe I'll think differently when I've sat in one.

And for your information Strike and others... Just cause I'm in university does not mean I don't have money. And not to sound offensive, but what gives you the right to say I'm not and that I won't be a good owner? Besides the fact that I had to learn my stick driving on my Lude I like to think I have been a pretty good owner. I take care of my car. It's garaged. I know a lot about car detailing and wash and wax my car often In fact I can almost guarantee my Lude's paint looks better than your S2K. I'm only asking because situations have come up that may allow me to get a new car. Just cause I sometimes like to be in an automatic in traffic does not mean I won't enjoy an S2K as I've said many many times i love driving a stick when I'm actually allowed to drive. If you're annoyed with me you don't have to respond. You don't have to be so touchy. And not everyone likes to rave about their driving skills whether they have it or not. I'm saying I'm not good because I think I'm not good but maybe to so I'm fine.

If the situation has arisen and money is no object, why in the world is it such a decision? Just get it.....you don't like it, who cares....trade it in. People don't think you'll make a good S2K owner....who cares....do you care what they think? If you didn't want people's harsh opinions, I doubt you would have put the "if I really wanted it and bugged my mom she would buy it for me" in one of your posts. Hell, if my parents would have bought me one, I would have let them in a second. If I had asked, you probably would have heard the laugh all the way out where you live. If the "investment" end of it isn't the problem, then go for the $33,000 test drive.

You came here for advice and some people gave you some pretty blunt advice. If it comes down to the fact that you are going to anger Mom with the hopes of getting an S2K, you really didn't need to post here.

There are some people who really don't care about the money as long as it isn't their's. I'm not like that. And even if I was really rich I would still think about it perhaps not as much. It doesn't matter how much money I have, the fact remains that I'll lose the tax I paid for the Prelude. The fact I mentioned my mom was because she would be the one paying for it. Even if she won't be, she still bought the Prelude for me and I think it's reasonable to care about people's feelings. The car was a gift to me. I trade it in so soon it might disappoint.

And no. I didn't appreciate the blunt comments. It's understandeable that some of you guys think of cars as a sort of God or something but I don't. If I worked hard for the money and I spent it on the car I deserve to have that car. I am very thankful for essentially all of the responses here and I will need more input when I finally do decide to buy one.

Ultimately a car is one of those enjoyments in life. If I enjoy the S2K more then it doesn't matter if I drive it badly. I just didn't appreciate people attacking me personally that's all. I want honest opinions but I think personal comments against me was way too much.

What kind of tax will you lose? Taxes are peanuts compared to two years of deprecation.

At first, I wasn't sure whether you were talking Vancouver, BC or Washington.....now between the traffic talk and the tax talk, I am sure it is BC.

In Canada, Taxes might be worth more than 2 years of depreciation!

Don't take the personal comments too seriously.....if you were on a Civic Si or Prelude SH site, you'd have many worse comments with the way those guys fight, piss and moan.

Also, vehicles are very important to some people and some of those people might work their ass off just to get a hold of the car they really want. Understand that when you come on the site mentioning that Mom will buy it for you....they might take offense that they aren't that lucky (granted if it bothers them, that is their problem). I pay a ton of money (my hard earned money) for mine and am damn happy with it but I can certainly understand why someone might be setback a bit by that type of comment. It didn't bother me, and I didn't mean to attack you, but you have to look at both sides.
