COOLANT level question..Help!

Default COOLANT level question..Help!

Can anyone tell me whether or not veryyy coolant little/or none in the reservoir bottle can be the answer to why Air Conditioner aint working right (pushing out cool air)..let me know please..thanks

i got an empty reservoir but my AC is still working...I am filling it up this weekend

There is no link between the engine cooling system and the air conditioning.

ok...now is there any way to check how much R134 (?..or the new version of freon) there is?..thanks

the only thing i can think off is if ur thermostat isn't working right
but i have noticed the a/c kicking in better when the engine is above 3k rpm's

Yeah like he said...these two systems are not interconnected in anyway. Go to the dealership and ask them to check your freon levels. If it's low, have them put a can of R134A in and some leak detector (this is a dye that will show up on your A/C lines if Freon is leaking out). If that's not the problem then you might check your Compressor clutch to see if it is engaging...and on and on...goodluck

On the R-12 systems there was a window on top of the condenser. With the engine and a/c running you could get some rudimentary idea of the freon charge by noting the amount of bubbles present. More bubbles , less charge. Don't know if we have that or whether you can actually see the top of the canister.

ya, well im almost positive its just the amount of freon in there..il let yall know monday, after its checked out/fixed..thanks tho
