Count as a win???
It's 1:35am in SF and just 30mins ago, had encountered an M3 convertible, the newer ones. So I am diriving on Bay street, this M3 just races pass me. Fine no big deal Mr. M3. The light ahead turns red. He is stopped up ahead while I am four car lengths behind. I mean I don't need to race you... By the time I get to the light, it turns green so there's no need for me to stop and I just drive past. AT THIS MOMENT, the friggin jerk thinks I am racing him. So he catches up to me and passes me again, he stops at the next light leading to Emaracdero. What the heck? Are we trying to do a Road & Track 0-60-0 here? So again by the time I get to the light, it turns green and I whizzz by. This time, from four cars length behind I can hear him catching up so I say let's goooooOOooo. Mind you we're not racing here and we stop at the next light. I look over to my left and see that he's an Indian gentleman maybe 29~32yrs, with 3 other passengers in the car. The light turns green, I VTEC it. 1st gear, I rev all the way to 7000, shift 2nd 8000, then 3rd. I am now one car lengths ahead till the next light. It turns red. I stop, but the M3 just runs the light. Now let me ask you this... did that count as a win or not because he did have 4 other passengers and I had none? Educate me please on the rules of the street.

consider this:
he had 2 extra people, lets say each of them weighs in at 150lbs... so 300lbs total... 10 lbs = 1 hp so 300 lbs would be equate to a 30 hp loss. i am actually still surprised that the M3 considering its the new version 01+ even with the extra 300 lbs didnt beat the S.
even when i squeezed 50 shot of NOS. i would still loose to the newer M3. Only when i switched to a 75 shot, i can then keepup with them, especially on the highway.
to answer your question, YES you beat him on the race and the other times before didnt count. but if you want to be fair, he did have 2 extra people in the car, so to him even if he were to loose by 1 car, in his mind he would be saying "YEAH, but i had 2 extra fools in my car"
so it depends on how you want to look at it.

Erm ... you think that you beat (or could beat) a new M3 while shifting at 7000rpm? I don't think so - either your S2000 has a V8 in it or the M3 took off in 3rd gear. You'll have a hard time beating an MX5 (Miata) shifting at 7000rpm.
ps. If you shift at 7000rpm then you barelly VTEC. You VTEC for 1000rpm and then when you change to 2nd gear you land at 4600rpm - that is loooong way of VTEC. At 4600rpm you have only about 115hp at the crank, not at the wheel.
