I do like the look of the hardtop, but I love top down. I've been known to drive top down in the rain, snow, 100+ degree days, 20 degree days, etc.

id say vert since u can always add on a hartop. but it really depends on how the coupe is.

I'd do a coupe because it would be stiffer and lighter.

The fact that the S was vert really wasn't a factor for me. I've had many verts and I know that in Texas there is very little time each year that you can drive topless comfortably.

If it were not a convertible, I would have gone with the MX5. If I prefered the coupe, I would have gone with the G35 or Z...

my number one choice would be a retractable hardtop vert, best of both worlds

same here, my top is always up anyways.

2800 lb isn't exactly lightweight

Right.

The rigidity of an open top car, with the weight of a coupe!! Where do I sign up??

Your TX must be different than mine, b/c I enjoy my S2000 topdown almost year round! I had a wonderful topless commute to work yesterday, in mid-70's temps.

Gotta admit, though, that I have a strong lust for the Cayman S and would buy a Vette in coupe form (albeit w/ both clear and hard tops, prob. no top for long weekend drives).

I guess I'd base my thoughts on a coupe vs. conv. S on their relative performance and the looks of the coupe.

i love the convertible!! i drive with it down at NIGHT!! but the looks of a hardtop just give the s2000 that look. plus knowing that ur car's a convertible and u have a hardtop on, just makes it that more RARE!!
