CR more acceptable now vs. its introduction?

Hahahaha, MULDER... they totally got you!
There is a lot to explain about how we felt then versus now. Simply, what we wanted is what the Nismo 350Z and even the new Nismo 370Z got.... more power... more hardcore.. ect. We had been ringing our hands for years for it.... begging Honda to show off.
What we (and I) got was a replacement for the Ap1. I still think the lip is horrid... thats why I bought black. The wing has grown on me some over time but it is still obnoxious.
I will say this... it does work.
The CR was IMO 8/10ths what it should have been. What can I say? I get pissed when disappointed.

My only real gripe was that they didn't boost engine performance in the CR. Why build a race version of a car that costs more and not increase engine output?

Mulder - makes sense. There was a big difference between what was hoped for, expected, and provided.
Some people were looking for a Type-R - and they were disappointed. Some people were looking for a car that was everything (300hp lightweight with a softtop and lexus interior that could lap the ring in 4 minutes) - they were outraged.
The fact is, Honda gave us a good car. I'm coming up on a year ownership of my CR (Sunday) and I simply love it. The wing works. The suspension is both trackable and liveable. The seats are comfy and grippy. The wheels...well, I still don't like the wheels. The car may not be a Type-R, but there are a handful of trophies on my bookshelf that I got in the past year that probably wouldn't be there if I kept my AP1 (although it might have happened if I modded my AP1).

I was thinking about it, and I know what Honda should have done. Instead of the cr, I would have liked Honda to do what they did with the NSX (in Japan) -> a Type-S and Type-S zero.
The Type-S would be the the Type-S from Japan. The stiffer suspension (not as stiff as the CR), aero, sways, steering, interior but with the soft top.
The Type-S Zero would be the CR delete model but maybe give it some extras like lighter wheels (BBS RGR's like the NSX Type-S had). Maybe find other places to lighten it up like lighter seats, rear glass, manual windows, battery, etc.
I figure they could have sold a lot of Type-S's since many people seem to be turned off by the lack of soft top. And some people wanted the CR to be more Type-R-ish. Just a thought.
