CR more acceptable now vs. its introduction?
#44
That old thread is hilarious! When I was in the market to buy a new ride in late 07 - early 08, I test drove the Nismo350, Audi TT, and the standard S. None of those cars had that special quality that the S had (the Nismo didnt have any increase in power over the standard 350). I didnt like the CR at first glance, but after testing several S's and seeing the CR more and more, i finally decided to test out the CR and then new i had to get it. I could certainly feel the difference between the standard S and the CR w/out the HT.
Reading some of those post about why it was so disliked, it seems like those of you missed the point of the CR. Most that didnt like it, actually wanted a Type-S, which is almost the same as the CR, but still had the soft top, AC and radio. The CR is the hardcore version of the Type-S, but not quite as hardcore as what wouldve been a Type-R.
