Creaking noise while driving
MY car is brand new. When I drive down a mildly bumpy road I can hear a creaking sound coming from the driver side. More specifically it sounds as if it is coming from the soft top itself or maybe where the top of the door meets the roof. Anyone experience something similiar to this? On the highway or smoothly paved road their is no problem.
noises are hard to locate, as you know. I had good luck greasing the hood latch. The noise sounded like suspension problem, but greasing the hood latch eliminated it completely (this was suggested by by someone on "under the hood" forum)
I've got a similar creaking noise. It sounds like it's coming from the softtop crossbar that runs right above the driver's head. If the car gets warmed up it sometimes goes away, but it's always there when I first start driving. The dealer couldn't figure out what the problem was and was supposed to to some research and call me back. Of course I never heard from them.
Surf2k....i think you hit it on the money. I drove around with the door open tonight and still had the noise. I suspected it might be the cross bar at first. Its definately not my seat hitting the back...im too short. I did notice a squeaking sound when my friend was driving it with the seat back but I knew what that sound was from right away.
On a separate note...seems alot of people who just bought their cars got Suzuka Blue...so much for that being a rare color.
