Cruise Control = Ticket Control. The S, she is always tempting me go faster, go faster! I use ticket control almost everyday on my way to/from work. Part of my route is on a highway that is wide open (no grid lock on my way to work!) and is also frequented by speed traps. Cruise keeps me below the threshold of pain required for an office to decide to pull me over.

Well mark me down as one who likes the cruise control. I use it a lot, one example is my frequent trips up to Toronto. Driving 65 to 70mph on the NYS thruway can be a challenge. With the cruise on I know I will not look down and see 85 or 90 on the speedo. There is also a 45mph section I drive through to work, the cops and the deer are everywhere. I use the cruise on the truck and the S often, and I know it has saved me from at least one deer hits and several tickets.

like a couple of others, i use mine only to control the speed when i see a black and white... just set it on a safe speed until he's gone and then turn it off-
got me out of a ticket recently... i had just vteced and saw a black and white coming onto the freeway, as i cut back my engine was racing (pretty loud as you know)- dropped into a safe speed limit with the cruise control on while he tailed me long enough to get bored... he then zoomed past me to get someone else-
see- cruise control is good for something!!

My current economy car does not have cruise control. I occasionally drive 390 miles from LA to Phoenix, and within 150 miles, my right leg is usually in exruciating pain from being extended in the same position. True, my seats are very crappy, so that probably contributes to the problem.

When I buy an S2000 the cruise control is going to be a huge relief, and I'm looking forward to it.

Please just don't set it and forget it. I get so annoyed at people who move to the left lane to pass a semi and leave their cruise control on. They think it's ok to pass at 1.8 mph faster than the truck. Usually it's a minivan and they can't even see out of their mirrors.

Cruise Control = Ticket Control
I couldn't agree more.
but while we are ripping things out... what about the door panels and all that plastic covering the roll bars and do we really need a dash that goes all the way in front of the passenger side since we already took out the passenger seat, and why have ducts for the air conditioning we took out. Golly, all that plastic should add up to at least 5 lbs.

Do you really think it adds that much weight? I like the fact that it's there and if you ever take your car on a long road trip, you'll probably appreciate it too. I agree that it's a sports car, but it's funny how people complain about the little amenities as if not having them makes you more of a man. Go ahead and remove the AC, windows, top, carpet, radio, and cruise control and see how you like it.

I agree with Wickerbill. Have taken a 1000 mile road trip. Bless cruse control. Kept me legal and able to move my right foot off the gas and be comfortable. Had the CRX without on some long trips. Tried to figure out how to use a stick to hold the gas peddle down until I could uncramp my right leg.

This sounded like a complaint to me and is what several other people were responding to. Sorry if I misunderstood.

Believe it or not, on the highway, cruise control decreases driver fatigue by allowing position changes of the right leg.
