I DD mine also. I agree with alot of the comments, a car is meant to be driven! Im about to turn MY02 over to 90k (around 48k on new shortblock) and I love driving it everyday. I dont see how you can buy this kind of car and not drive it much. Unless it was a full out track car or something, thats a different story.

No garage queen here 81,500 miles and I got it with just under 30k two years ago.

I never get tired of driving my S.

I wonder what percentage of S2000 owners:

1. Have kids

2. Live in the country.

If either applies to you I don't see how the S2000 could be your only car. Only #2 applies to me and I would have been stuck in my driveway for 2 weeks without my 4x4 truck.

^^ amen! no need or want for anything else. My mileage this year will proabaly drop to 10k from 25k and I actually miss driving it that much. After driving this car everyday for 50k miles, it's too fun not to DD. My car was down for two months last year and it seriously sucked. I was DDing a 745li and while the comfort and torque was nice, I couldn't wait to get back into the S.

Not sure what kids have to do with it, wife and I both drive 2-seat roadsters and have for 30+ years, after the kids were born we sometimes took 2 cars if all of us needed to be in one place. Its a kid and its very transportable. Wifey did eventually get a SUV (sold the SUV after 14 years with 29,000 miles on it) until the kid turned 16, then went back to a 2 seat roadster. Even my daughters car is a 2 seat roadster now.

I bought mine as a DD. Now i bought a van as a DD but i find myself loving the CR to much so its still my DD. I figure this car will still last me 10 years as a DD. And by than i can just have the engine rebuilt. Think if u go 20k miles a year which most don't. After 10 years u would have 200k i'm sure this car can last that long with minimal repairs. Than just have the engine rebuilt and suspension redone and ur good
