wow....... your a tech for 4 years and bleeding the brake system is still a PITA?

 

Don't take it to Honda, they charge a lot to have one of their apprentices do the work on your S2000. Find a local competent mechanic, that way you know it's his (or her's... yeah) hands doing the work and odds are, will be done for a lot less. I know out there they charge 100-140/hrs whereas most shops if you talk to them a bit will charge under 80, that alone is some good savings. Plus, dealerships tend to fluff with the labor hours too.

 

Ill drive around today and see what shops offer. If I think they are sketchy or just don't trust them then ill have to buy ALL the tools again. Shiiiit.

 

just go to harbor freight or kmart and get some cheap tools for now. the basic tools and the special rear caliper tool shouldn't cost more than $30

speaking of which I just bled two clutches today w/ cheap tools in less than half an hour. lol

 

Do it yourself. I used to enjoy working on cars as a hobby, but now its not fun anymore more of a chore when it comes to automotive, but I can assure you when its due time for oil changes, fluid changes, brake jobs etc im on point and set aside the time to get it done. If you can do it yourself then save your money and rest assure that the job has been done correctly, since you were a tech for 4 years. I dont let others touch my car because they dont give a rats ass about it. This includes stealerships. Stop being lazy

 

I've done nearly everything on my car. The only time anybody else has worked on it is when Slow Motion Motorsports fabricated my custom exhaust. I stood right there with them while they welded and installed the entire exhaust. I have done everything from oil changes to my cam install. It's not that hard. You say you're too lazy to do it yourself and dealerships charge too much. Well then sell the car and buy a 91 Camry so you won't have to worry about it.

 

You guys have to think out side the box!! I mean not every one has a drive way. What about no one near you who can give you a lift? I mean come on! Stop the hate.

I do oil changes my self, but when it comes to legit shit like brakes I don't see my self spending money on tools AGAIN. Then some thing strips out and my car is sitting there on jack stands and now I can't put it back together because of that.

I have to now find a ride back to the store, get more tools, tap and die kits. What about apartment complex rule where it says you can

Give me a break. You act as if the tools you need are going to rip your ass in half to purchase them. Surely you have friends. If you have no room to do the job, drive over a buddys house, crack open a few beers and have some male bonding time. Not that serious.
