That in dash opener looks pretty nice. Looks like it's small enough to fit in the fake cover panels that we have on the car.

Have you guys seen this thread? Flash your high beams and your garage door opens, very cool. I know two owners who've done it successfully.

I just got figured out a way to make the Mikado remote work for the S2000. As you know there is almost no place to mount any of these custom remotes.

What I did was order the trim piece behind the cupholder designed to handle the rear defroster on the hardtop cars. The Honda CRV Remote fits nicely inside one of the button holes. The pocket is plenty deep to accept the remote (about 3.5- 4 inches). Looks and works great.

Mikado sells these units for $59.95 (non-rolling code) and $74.95 for the rolling code adaptors w/ remote. Not bad considering the size of this universal remote and its application. I was at Home Depot this weekend and the small universal remotes were $30 - $50. The trim piece is about ten bucks. I am trying to find the part number of the trim piece that will cover the other hole.

Will post more when I have all the info.

ive done this, but the range kinda sucks.. i have to be pretty close (less than 10') from my garage for the door to open.

ive also had an accident with this.. one night my roomates car died. i pulled in with my nose halfway inside the garage to give him a jump.. it was kinda dark so i turned on my hibeams.. you figure out the rest!

Switch Cover Pt # 83403-S2A-023ZA
Plastic Cover for empty hole Pt # 35461-S2A-003ZA (haven't got it yet)

If someone can tell me how to post pictures in a JPEG format from a floppy I'll put them up.

For installation you have to remove the center console cover and getting the existing pocket out is a little difficult. H and A has the hardtop installation instructions online. Print these up and the install will be fairly easy.

Thanks,

lets put money into our cars strictly on a performance basis...no garage opener needed....save that money for something else.
