todaysvxx - other than an air filter, I don't know what "performance" items your going to pick up for $75. Maybe a bunch of go fast stickers. : )

How do I get my car out of the garage? It can only be opened via remote. And who want's to have a remote control flying around the passenger seat when taking curves at 90+ miles an hour?

Hey TJ, thanks for the info! Which remote did you order? or did you have to trim the remote face to fit?

I ordered the application for the Honda CRV which Mikado already has. The fit isn't perfect but it snaps in real nice. Keep in mind the install will look better when I get the plug for the empty hole.

Contact Mikado and let them know what you want to do. I went over to their shop on Wednesday to show them my idea. They were considering a kit including the bracket and plug. They have the same part numbers I posted here.

I was able to perform this mod in about 20-30 minutes last night. All I've got to say is, it works great! Range is not a problem...

I placed the remote inside the passenger fender well similiar to the author. Cost: $7.45 in Radio Shack parts.

raddray - cool, you won't be disappointed. The range is pretty good only about 10 feet shorter than my big, bulky remote (more than adequate).

Got to give kudos to Trevor at H & A for finding the part numbers. Five other Honda dealers couldn't find the numbers.

Maybe these part numbers should be placed in the FAQ. What do you think? Who does this?

How long does the battery last? Also, in extreme cold, the batteries freeze - they do in my handheld remotes - which render the remote useless till they are warmed up...
