Anyone who's gotten the dashboard replaced have the bubbling reoccur? If not, is it because Honda knows what the exact problem is and how to fix it?

Mine does it also, kinda annoying for an otherwise flawless car (so far). I hate problems like this, especially since I've never noticed it in older S2K's.

I haven''t taken mine to the dealer yet and I'd have to go out of my way for this (since there's nothing else wrong with it and I do all the maintenance myself).

I have heard of new ones coming off the truck with huge bubbles. What they have to do is remove the whole dash and re-wrap it. I think that's prone to more issues.

I am glad I don't have any on my 06 (am I the only one?). Can't you just stick a needle in the bubble spot? The hole shouldn't be visible.

my 06 has the same problem, i dont think its the sun. i only have 6200 miles on it, she sits and sleeps in the garage most of the time, but i still notice the lumpiness of the dashboard, i didnt think anyone else had this problem till now. my decision is to go to the dealer if it gets any worse.
my honda experience is pretty bad. just look at it this way, the service guys, parts guys, and even the mechanics know me at my local dealership... my family has 3 hondas, civic, accord and s2000. i take them all for warranty work. as for the slippery slope issue, i can say that the the dealership (at least the one i go to) knows what they're doing, they changed up my sister's civic dashboard and there were no squeeks or squeels afterwards.

Crap! Now you fellas have got me all worried. I'll take a look when I get home, and see whether I have the problem as well. Mine's top down 98% of the time, and has seen some heat over the summer. Oh, and I have 6600 miles on mine.

Could it be due to any protectant or detailing product applied on the dash. I use F21 Protectant.

Wierd.... My 00 doesn't have that problem at all. Seems like there are many more quality issues with 2006s as opposed to any other model year I have ever seen for the S2000.
if you say so.

F-MINUS, who were you talking about? When you make a statement like that, please give us the details. The only official acknowledgement Honda can make of a problem is a TSB or a recall; I have seen neither.
I think the person that F-MINUS is referring to is Ben (aka "Supertech"). He's on S2KI with "Supertech" as his handle. He's a Honda Certified master mechanic working out of Diamond Bar Honda. I've had work done by him and I have to say that he's one of the better Honda (S2000 in particular) mechanics out in So Cal.

I'm continually looking for these bubbles to "pop-up'" but nothing so far.
Seems to be intermittant like the "key always in the ignition" problem (which I have) but most don't.
Minor irritation for me and don't plan to do anything about it at this time.
If I had the bubbles problem, I'd mention it to the service manager at the first scheduled service then wait until the next scheduled service and have the dash replaced.
This gives the service department enough time to replace other peoples dash's and gather experience on exact procedures and Honda to recall or repair existing dash's and replacements..

Hello, today i took my car to the dealer to see what they would do. The manager looked at my car and told me they would fix it no cost to me, under warranty. So they ordered the dash and they will call me when it gets here.
