Default Dealer oil change fail, again

Over the last ten years, one in three of my Honda dealership oil changes have left me about a quart low, at the low mark on the dipstick.

I generally check in the dealer lot before I drive away. It feels sort of paranoid, but a 33.3333% failure rate is bad stuff definitely happening, not a delusion.

So don't drive happily away. Check your level. Dealers are not your reliable source for basic maintenance any more than IffyLube is.

They don't put the A team mechanics on oil change detail. With a Fumoto its so easy. All done with just the hood open.

I quit using the stealership after the oil monkey stretched the threads on the drain plugs in both cars and the wifely unit's truck. He also over filled one car by 2 quarts.

Get a Quick Drain plug and you'll never pay anyone else to change your oil again. Piece of cake to install and use.

Curious, what does the dealer say when you walk back in showing them the low dipstick reading from the car they just changed the oil on?

Only time I visit the dealer is when I need parts asap.

They were probably also hand-tightening the new filters and (likely) putting the wrong one on your car...

I will NEVER take my or my wife's car to a dealership now, not after my own experiences alone... and there's a lot of horror stories fomr others I've read that make me even more confident in my decision

They probably don't change the filters too unless you visibly mark them with a date after each change. I stopped going to a dealership once I noticed my filter was not changed. It honestly takes the same amount of time doing it yourself as it would take to drive to the dealership and wait.
