Pros:
-Better Performance
-Stiffer Suspension (wonder if these components can be retrofitted?)
-Lighter Weight
-Stickier, wider rubber (likewise -- add the new wheels)
-Shorter throws
-Suede seats might be grippier
-Smart dash rearrangement
-Hard Top included

Cons:
- Apex Blue is teh suck! I'll take Laguna or Suzuka as a better blue
- Don't do enough track days for the downforce add to offset looking like a ricer all the time
- Yellow stitching. Huh?
- C/R badge ... how long until we see this on a Civic?
- Price bump

Personally:

i think this thing looks UGLY..

some kits are ugly.. some kits make the car better.. this is just plain ugly..Do u honestly think this car looks better then a stock ap2 with a lip?!

shouldve left the outside alone with minor cosmetic mods and made the car quicker..
just like the ITR.. or even 99-00 civic Si's.. what the heck were they thinking!
Yeah I do, better than red and white cars with black hoods and wings.

This thread is growing to the point where a new server is required to manage it.

I think the crowd is unanimous on the verdict...

Horrible .

I believe the S2000 has been on the downswing since '02. I was hoping they were going to go old school on this model, so disappointing .

vishnu - I respectfully disagree with you. The weight loss is insubstantial, and probably due to lack of AC and soft top motors, but not much (if any) lighter wheels, no CF or alum components, no ceramic brakes, without a truly stripped interior, etc. To make this car a real and safe club racing car you have to do almost as much to it as you do to a 2005 S2000, except it has the wing (debatable) and maybe an adequate suspension (can probably still do way better, but I do not know details) ... I do not doubt it is better/faster than the standard car on the track mentioned, but to call this hardcore and a racer?? Are you kidding me?? This is mostly cosmetic, and only secondarily performance-oriented. To call this car a club racer is nuts - it is an S2000 street car but no racer.

Give me a 200+ pound lighter car, better and lighter brakes (ceramic, maybe??), lighter wheels, and an OEM roll bar or half cage with harness mounts, hardback cloth seats with holes for 5-6pt harnesses, and an adjustable (like Moton) suspension, fire suppression, maybe upgraded oil handling/capacity and cooling, brake ducts, and then call it a club racer. Leave the HP/TQ basically alone (and no turbo or SC), it is plenty. Give that a warranty you'd honor after track events, and I am in.

The S2000CR has, unfortunately, come up way short. I wish it had not, but it did.

Looking at the bumper I dont think that Honda is intending on keeping it that way, maybe some canards OSLT in place?? That shit is just too damn gaudy on each side of the car, it looks like someone punched the shit out of the bumper and put speed knots on it. I still cannot fathom why they havent bumped up the power... thats the main thing that EVERYONE here and everyone everwhere else was looking for. I dont mind the wing that much, I like the wheels but I kinda feel Honda just slapped a bunch of shit on the car in a hurry.

Hey its a beating well deserved, and every damn person on here that bought this car and expected some sort of respectful evolution of the vehicle from 1999 deserves a swing!! Keep beating people.
