Definitive S2000 CR Thread
Am I missing something? Sounds like you guys are so sure there is going to be something quite different that's going to come out?
I wouldn't mind if it is ... but just sounds like everyone's so sure about it or something ...

I hope they dont produce a better Intake Manifold and TB, otherwise all us non DBW guy's will be out of luck
.
If its just subtle difference's like seats, thermoswitch, cluster, frnt bumper, than everything should be able to move right over to other MY's.
But that does not make it much of a track car

I'm also thinking Champ White could be the color of choice for the CR.
Maybe the seats will be suede with red stitching.
New shift knob? Maybe titanium cause its super light. haha
No matter what the CR may have, I am looking forward to the news in great anticipation.

Just sifted through this thread and your right, I did miss something. To be perfectly honest, you've given us quite a few pieces to the puzzle - the problem is, every 3rd post is regarding whether Honda will SC/Turbo/Nitous/whatever the F22C and whether the car will be made from aluminum/titanium or some other ridiculously exotic material being implemented on the vehicle whilst its in the middle of its life cycle. But I digress....So far I've gathered that:
- Same power output
- Different seats ala Type-R. I would guess that they would be lighter than the current seats, non leather for added grip during high g manuevers. Very much like a Recaro, if not the actual thing.
- Lighter car. Improved power/weight ratio via loss in weight, NOT gain in power. Loss in weight achieved in similar fashion to how it was done in the ITR such as removal of sound deadening, lighter seats, etc. Not sure about the softop, but I personally think there won't be any real weight savings by removing the mechanism. Then again, in a Type-R, every lb counts.
- More raw. Kind of like raw and bloody steaks

- Revised Front Fascia
- Revised Cluster
I think I've got the "rainbow" figured out...
IMO rainbow=championship white since white light is composed of the various colors that make up the color spectrum aka the rainbow.
I try
I would add that I think A/C will be optional, and that there may be a radio delete. (If they are optional, don't think for a SECOND that any dealer is going to order the car WITHOUT them.)
The soft top to hardtop conversion would save some weight.

I have been following this with some interest, having owned 3 S2000s in the past and being limited in what I could do with them without mucking them up (ie having someone weld in a bar). In short, if the car is lightened, has an upgraded susp (adjustable, sways, etc), lighter wheels, better seats, etc, all under the "Club Racer" moniker, what it really has to come with from the factory is a legit roll bar or hoops so that you can take it to the track right out of the box. Of course, that's weight, but o/w the CR moniker is just a name.
Just my 0.02.
Just my 0.02.

My softtop, frame, motors, and some support brackets weighed in at 58 lbs on the bathroom scale. The OEM hardtop with mounting hardware was around 50lbs.
So take that as a message AHM, if you make this car with hardtop and minus soft-top, INCLUDE the fooken Mugen or Spoon hardtop.
