I told Honda many times that their soft top sucks. I wonder how they are going to approach it to make it bulletproof against the UV lights

How can Honda Design a top that will NEVER rip?

He is telling us that it is going to come with a carbon fiber hardtop that is painted to match the body. CF parts that are clear coated have to be periodically re-clear coated to protect against UV light, thus they are not going to clear-coat it, they are going to paint it.

On a serious note...if this comes out as a coupe (permanent hardtop) and is not in the OEM hardtop shape....I'm getting one to store in the proverbial barn shed.

I've been looking for a good condition S800 coupe, let me tell you...they are hard to find in whole.

The CR could be just that 30 years from now if it follows the S800 "plan".

BTW...I just googled the topic. I can't believe how tight-lipped Honda has been about this car after the initial press-release.

You'd figure that there'd be some level of leak within the ranks at Honda (friends --> family --> car groups--> media --> S2Ki).

BTW...the jig is up, I know the whole story....the Honda CR is going to be the re-release of the original MY2000 S2000 (I think I said that before, though).

Can you guys confirm or deny that my Honda dealer is hitting the pipe?? I just got off the phone with him and he said the CR's are going to be 300+ hp?? And "would be too much car for American streets" "so dont bother looking for one over here" Does he just have his Type-R and CR models backwards? or is just weapons grade BS?
