Definitive S2000 CR Thread
why not buy a Evolution SE or STI SE?
What justifies the premium (if there is) and collectability?
Because I don't remember any special edition car that came out that's worth anything right now and supra's weren't really special edition cars.
Seems like the special edition doesn't hold their value that well. Instead, if honda discontinues the s2000 and people go crazy like the supra group then the price and the resale value of the s2000 will go up.
I think if mitsubishi discontinued the Evolution right now, anyone who has one now could sell them in a year for high premium.
just throwing this out there.

Plokivos: Compared a 2000 GS-R versas a 2000 ITR, or a 97 GSR vs 97 ITR, etc. The ITR's hold their value far better becayse they are limited, like the CR will be.
It's still not an investment as pointed out already, but it will hold it's value better than a "base" S2000.
