Definitive S2000 CR Thread
i said almost - relax.
you have to at least admit that the s2000 is a little bit too classy for an upgrade like this. you see this crap happening to civics and sentras. most people that are buying s2000's are directly comparing their options with elise's these days (or am i the only one?) so i think my statement is not a million miles off like you're suggesting. we may not own anything close to ferraris but you have to understand we're a few tiers up from a civic.
whatever, i'm not wasting anymore time justifying my opinion. ANYWAY...
i found this interesting in that last link...

Not so doubtful, a limited run at the end of a models life, in which they at least claim to have done testing on that horrific body kit, and spent the time and money doing R&D into what changes the ricers in Cali and FL wanted
(yes, the ricer comment was in jest)
Depending on the final price, I wouldn't be too surprised, it's not just the price of the parts that you have to take into account.

What I can't believe is what marketing genious at Honda decided that baby blue would be the color they'd put on this car.
What kind of crack are you smoking?
The choice was clear to all of us..... Championship White. Easy call. The car would have still been ugly, but it wouldn't have been quite as bad. I mean this color is something you'd expect to see on a '96 Civic with an all white and blue spray painted interior.
The other thing that gets me is that one of the major selling points they keep mentioning is that it comes with better tires. Not only is this a part that wears out, but its also one thats horribly easy to upgrade on your own car.
It's almost unbelievable that unveiling a car like this could actually generate negative feelings toward Honda. I could see it not wowing us, but to actually hurt Honda's image in our mind is a feat to say the least.
I'm SO pissed off at Honda for this one that I can barely stand it. The part that makes me the most mad (other than having my hopes inflated and then crushed) is that this shows what Honda thinks of us in the enthusiast segment.
This is what they think of us....
It's insulting.

For an end-of-an-era, limited edition sports car from Honda, the CR is very disappointing
just what I figured.. different suspension, aero upgrades, some interior changes, lack of AC, power top to save weight, and nothing more. Basically all things you can do to a regular S2K for probably less $$. But then again, if you were expecting ANYTHING more, you're crazy.
