Definitive S2000 CR Thread
Anyone else notice on the placard by the car at the NYIAS it lists "fresh air duct system" as a feature? Does this mean the faux-vents in the front will be opened up in the production model?

I hate to say I told you so... but I told you so. Honda sucks. I knew that we'd be dissapointed in what they had in store. I'm going to sleep honda... wake me up when you decide to make a real sports car again.

I actually don't see many (actually none) S2000's at track events/HPDEs with wings and body kits. So for a track-specific model, that crap doesn't fit what most people do.
Yes, the stiffer suspension is great, but EASILY reproducable. The additional brace will also most likely be EASILY reproducable.
There's nothing SPECIAL about the CR. It's just parts bolted onto a stock S2K, which removes a lot of the value in getting one. The great honda's in the past had changes that were NOT easily reproducable, additional bracing in the top, different, unique subframes, etc.
This car doesn't, it's a kit bolted to a stock car, nothing more.
In other words, it's a A-Spec type abortion, except uglier.

So in that regards they hit the target. So it's all perception. Honda did what tuners on here are doing.
Is this AHM's version of the high end JDM type-r? I believe JDM Honda did not allow AHM to use the type-r moniker because production and design is handled by AHM, but gave them the go ahead for a special limited release which was chosen to be "Club Racer" for the US. So the question is, is this true? Is it true AHM was in charge of the s2k cr? Will jdm build their own Type-R for japan and europe that we will miss out on?

Honda does the same thing, and the "perception" is that it's bad.
You ever think the reason Honda did it this was is because all this crap is exactly what people buy and put on their cars on this forum.
Or at least a large part of the modders.

The real problem is that is all honda did. Nothing but mods that is already out and people can do it themselves. after 8 years they should be able to do alot better then with the "CR" is.
even if they just worked on the suspension, interior, hardtop and left the exterior alone would've been worth an extra $3-4k over a stock model. the car isn't an exotic that will be doing 150+ mph on a track that it needed reduced lift from a ricer kit.
heck even if they wanted to add a kit why not something like this that's very subtle.

Why is VSA still in the "club racer" edition? First thing any club racer would do is disable VSA when they hit the tracks.
