Default defrosting rear window

What is the best setting to defrost the rear window? I don't have the owners manual so I am sure this is an easy answer but I don't know it.

Push the little defrost button on the right side of the steering wheel.

It is the plastic window. The defrost button is only for the front window.?

He has a 2000 so it has to be a plastic window.....in which case...there is no way to "defrost it easily" crank up the heat and bake himself in the process. Just clear the snow off with your hand.

Bake with the heat or get a hardtop for winter.
