DIFF'rent Strokes (REDLNR Returns)...
8 Weeks ago my car first hit the shop. After fixing the left axle I managed to snap the right axle and demolish the differential in only 2 days. For future reference the parts to fix your differential, and axles, will cost you around $4K
Tomorrow I get the car back!!!
All of the differential work is done, and the Kaaz differential was broken-in properly this weekend by the mechanics. That includes an hour of figure 8 driving in a grocery store parking lot.
Evidently, they had to do it in shifts as they started to feel queezy. Poor guys.
New Stuff: While the car was in the shop I had the throttle body sent to ProFlow for a rebore. My windows will be tinted tomorrow and I will be applying the back window tint once my car gets back home (it's been sitting here for weeks). I designed a new CAI duct/hosing that integrates into the coastal metals front grill. It's half way installed, once I finish I will post pictures.
What's Next: MG Racing exhaust will go on late this week, or next week at the latest. Powder-coated calipers will go on whenever they show up. I've contacted a company that will remanufacture my axles for strength at a decent price...going to do that soon. I'm waiting on quotes to come back from companies that do cryogenic freezing, for the differential housing. Probably going to drop VAFC on once I get the exhaust on, and Dyno'd. The dyno should show the gains of the Proflow TB and MG Racing exhaust on a SC S2000...should at least be interesting.
Once I get to drive the car around tomorrow night (don't forget the trip to Chick-fil-a
) I'll post responses about the Kaaz differential.
Appendix A:
Differential Went SNAP...
It wasn't the differential, it's the axle...
This time it WAS the differential...
My broken differential pics...
Comptech's Differential Housing Fix (pics)...
My Differential Update...

So Wesmaster, would you recommend the fixes for the axles plus a new differential as a prelude to installing a supercharger?? I know it would damn near double the cost, but peace of mind knowing that the drive train can hold up to the added torque is probably worth it??
Yes. This is what I would do.
1. Stick with stock clutch until it's gone.
2. Get your axles re-machined ($600)
3. Crygonically freeze the differential housing ($???)
At least that would help. What's the next thing to break?? Not sure yet...give me a month and I'll let you know.

that's good to hear Wes...
could you tell me a bit more about that CAI duct thing involving the Coastal Metals grill? (I really don't understand what you're saying...more details please)
