@ludatic you're thinking the wrong way I guess

I don't convert the light...the blue light only come sfrom the EL foil directly placed behind the LCD display

basically you can take out the OEM light bulbs

check the whole thread (pictures) and you'll understand

ok i'm thinking the wrong way.. i totally forgot the fact that it's an LCD lighting up, not just bulbs.. so it's basically like the lights u have on the cell fone displays.. i get it now.

Before i was thinkin that, how the hell do u get each increment to light up, are there actuall 9000 lil tiny bulbs where u'd have to cut 9000 el sheets

but yea i get it now.. the EL is the backlighting.

So anyway here's a suggestion, if the EL doesn't come out the way u want it to:
get a bit board and mount a buncha blue leds accross it, that way u'll have more output... and a truer "blue" color, rather than the "indiglo" blue... of course if ur EL sheets are going well then ... or u can invest in those lil tiny neon tubes.. they're like 3mm thick and 8 inches long. *shrug*

LED doesn't work...tried it...its too dark...you would have to put so many that it would be too expensive

But thanks for the tip (Again...check the pics some pages ahead)

guys I must admit that I didn't have any time at all to work further in this project.

Nor will I have this year. ButI promise I'll come up with a good solution.

I have a company on the hand which proposed me to make a custom sheet for the S2000 but it would cost 150 Euro...I guess that would be too much no?!

By the way I giving away my test EL lighting for the Speedo.
(blue light just for speedo and odometer!)

If some people are out there which know how to work with soldering iron and would liek to have it PM me.

Everything is included 2x blue foil / high frequency converter / special made connector so you don't have to solder on the original Honda electronics.

If we get like 30 people together for the 150 Euro/USD solution it would be fine for me too!

Best Greetings,

Yves

All red...that's one of the things I miss about the RSX, the all-red interior lights were just as cool as can be.

All around, the interior on the RSX was really something special...

Hey Yves, haven't heard from you in a while. In your absence, I've pursued the EL solution as well, detailed in this thread....

https://www.s2ki.com/forums/showthread.php?...&threadid=85914

I know the EL material is expensive, but 150 Euro is pretty high. They should be able to knock 20-30 Euro off of that and still make a decent profit, unless they are using something newer and more exotic than the EL stuff that I know of.

Yeah but the thing is the special shape I guess...I talked a lot to them ...
first they didn't even want to do it because I talked them about maybe 30 interessted people.

They sell for other makes ontheir website which gives them 1000times the profit!

I found this dash on a great video! You only catch a glimpse of it, but you can pause the video.
