yeah but, building up a FWd car to rock it in a 'straight line' is ****** stupid
LOL, is it? What would you build a FWD car to do, make it fast in the turns? Different strokes for different folks. Ya, I'm not really a big fan of high hp fwd cars, but if folks wanna do it, who cares? I had a quick integra back in the day that didn't get traction till 4th gear, so I know about fwd cars and traction problems. It still was a blast though, just had to go from a roll.

I don't care what anyone says, but there's nothing like a fwd little honda pulling on a camaro ss owner that thinks his s**t is fast. lol

^I take offense! haha

I never lost to any honda or fwd for that matter (in the LT1 SS, the newer LS1 SS is even faster). The only car I have lost to is a built foxbody mustang. My car was stock too, except for intake and exhaust, little bit higher ratio rear end and a close ratio trans (factory t56). I've raced countless tegs, civics, 350zs, G35s, etc.

There was one turbo-teg which didnt really race me but just "blew off" at me...We never did race, but that one MIGHT have murdered me, if it was tuned right. Maybe we just have slow cars in hawaii

I don't get why everyone is saying s2ks slow in a straight line. Its def not SLOW compared to 90% of the regular cars out there. And once ur moving its pretty quick. I mean I definitely feel the lack of tq after sitting in a 335i but you can't call the s2k SLOW..

Also I never drove a rsx s or civic si (I want to just to see the difference btwn s2k) but I can imagine its gona be completely different. I guess the ppl coming from civvics n stuff have to understand s2k is meant to be a comp diff car than a econobox with some pep
We did races back in 2003 over and over with my S2000 and my friends RSX Type S and the RSX held its own pretty well so the transition wont be that much. The S2000 is faster but not by much.

The S2000 is slow with todays standard of cars. Go test drive a BMW M3, Corvette ZR1, Audi R8, etc...

You will quickly learn and understand that the S2000 is very slow for the under $100,000 class. Have you seen the upcoming 2012 BMW Z4M? 2 Seater roadster with over 450 hp at 3200 pounds.. Granted $89,000 is a lot but the S2000 cannot compete with that.

The S2000 is a great car and would recommend it but saying its super fast in a straight line is just not accurate.

I went from a 94 Accord Coupe w/ an JDM H22A to a 01 Accord Coupe V6, and an 05 WRX. I was looking for either an S2000 or 2007 TL type S. I have been without a car for about a month ago for two a month. Then one day a customer came in for service on his S, it was an 05 Silverstone with 53k on it going for 12k. I just couldn't pass up the deal. I talk to the customer and was sold on it before I brought the car. After getting the S I wasn't to happy because the cabin was noisy, worry about driving in the rain, the vehicle was slow, and the BLIND spots with the top up. At first I notice the S VTEC was not as loud or kick in as hard as the H22A, but after the going to 8k from first to third I fell in love with the S. All the other cons just flew out the S with the top down. LOL

Also when I got the S I notice the clunking too and thought that was odd. I ask another co worker that had an S and he said that was normal. Seems funny because I have been a Honda tech for 6 years now and haven't heard any complaints about that from customers. So all in all I truly love the S, it's a fun car to cruise in. I wouldn't trade it for anything. I might get a TL down the line after I get married though that's about it

Also forgot to tell you, my H22A screams when the VTEC kick in and I mean SCREAMS.
If you get the right exhaust an intake setup you can probably get the VTEC in the S to scream a bit louder if that is what you want.

Actually, that's not why it's a good thing. It is a good thing because a smooth crossover doesn't upset the balance of the car when driving at/near the limit. Honda wanted it to be smooth (they actually improved the smoothness of the crossover to vtec on AP2s).
pretty much. the vtec engagement is even more subtle in nsx's.

Well, there are very few NA hondas that are honestly "fast" (fast being a 12 second car imo), so it's no surprise none beat you. I'll never forget the day I raced a Camaro SS (I think it was a late 90's model camaro ss, had at least intake and exhaust) in my integra. Started in 2nd from a roll, and just walked him, and put a couple cars on him by the top of 4th. This was me running a measely 9psi (t3/to4e) and a crappy 2.25" exhaust.

After turning the boost upto 1.1 bar and more mods, I ran into a few camaros on the highway, and it was no contest (I'm sure the ones I raced just had bolt ons though, because a boosted ls1 would've killed me). I'd guess the car was putting down 350+whp, never did bother going to the dyno, but that's a safe estimate. Those were fun times..

^^If these camaros you raced, put as much money into the mods as you did, they would have no contest with you. Of course you won vs a mostly stock car...
