The two are mutually exclusive. You can't be both!!!

I just read over JIC's response again and found the problem. This paragraph sums it up.

What the hell ever happened to "The customer is always right."

This thread and that response are certainly enough to keep my business from JIC.

Not to get into it because I just don't have that kind of time anymore, but the customer is not always right. As I was told in some of my business classes, "Sometimes you have to fire a customer!".

In this case, though, it seems like the guy was trying in earnest to resolve an issue. JIC appears to have dropped the ball on several ocassions. Obviously we can never know exactly what happened on both sides. However, one point that sticks in my mind is the product being sent back to be fixed. It's great that it was done for free (kudos to JIC), but if it was truly fixed, then the customer would not have complained two days later the problem was back again. I would also quote the Loc-Tite sentence...the exact point of using Loc-Tite is so the metal does NOT slip.

Also, you never sign a message "The Management"....you ALWAYS include a specific name. Some rare cases where you wouldn't MIGHT be for mass mailings and form leters, but NEVER personal replies.

This response is basically exactly what I got when I had my adjustment knob break (also with missing bearings).
