Do we really need anything above 91 octane??

Just outta curiosity, what kind of damage would leaded fuel do your engine, anyone?

Just replace the thing with a test pipe, and burn all the leaded gas you want. Burning too much racing gas leaded or not is not good for the engine, b/c it will wear the rings and pistons a lot faster than pump gas. Lead was in gasoline to help keep the engines lubed back about 20 years ago. It will also turn your exhaust a nice white color if you run it hard for a while
Actually, the lead will not harm the engine in any way.
I'm a retired jet engine design engineer. Sometimes leaded gas has to be used in the field when jet fuel isn't available, so we tested engines on leaded gas. Some parts were attacked (eaten away) by the lead, depending on the alloy and the temperature. I don't know if the (im)proper combination exists anywhere in the F20C, but I don't recommend trying to find out.
In these parts we have 87, 89, 93 and 94 at Sunoco. I get 93. I was told that Australia has 98 but maybe thats equal to something lower here like previous owners were saying. Going from 93 to 94 for an extra 7 cents isnt worht it in my opnion, but dont tell 21ws2k, he always gets the 94.
