Default Do you attract dangerous jerks?

I have heard this before, but I am amazed about the amount of dangerous idiots that my car attracts!
I've had the car for three weeks and already had two very unpleasant situations.
The first was in a city street where a pick up truck tried to push me off the read because he could not pass me. The followed me for several blocks!
The second was last weekend when driving to Atlanta an idiot cut me off at high speed when I let him pass (we had passed each other several times before).
I had a vette before and this never happened to me. Is it the car?

I don't think so. I had a vette too, and I ran across a large number of jerks who would race, swerve, refuse to let me pass, tailgate, give me the finger, etc. The most memorable incident I had in the S2000 occured in downstate NY where I had a ratty van practically blow its motor up trying to keep me from passing (95 mph+ on a 2 lane road). I think a lot of has to do with where you are, and the resident population of a$$holes, not the car itself.

This same type of behavior happens here in So. Cal. Usually I get some guy trying to show off in front of me by revving his engine or accelerating very fast. However, one time I did get a jerk who pulled ahead of me in the next lane and the passenger started straying water out the window just to get my car wet. That really pissed me off since I had just washed my car that day . I don't know what it is, but it seems that there is a common theme and that is trucks just don't like the S2000.

There are a lot of so-called "haters" out there. One time I had a Ford F350 try to run me off the road for NO REASON.

However, the good comes with the bad ... I've had a lot of positive comments before and I've had some good, memorable moments in my S2k as well.

I'd say people tailgating is the most common problem I come across, and if I move over a lane to let them pass.....thay move right with me...this seems to happen with two types of vehicles...trucks and alot of people driving Lexus, and at night more than during the day.

I haven't had too many people cut me off, but I have had a lot of people in my blind spots since they are pacing me while checking out the car. For the people that cut me off, I just honk my FIAMM air horns at them. You'd be surprised at how much a loud horn affects them.

I try not to drive the S2000 at night or during the week. The lights really do offend others very easily and the traffic around here is so bad during the week and the car is so small I tend to not get noticed.
